The Ezzle
A play-based assessment device. It's a small set of connected cubes, run by a companion app, that turns familiar tasks into structured cognitive insight.
How it works
The Ezzle pairs 2 to 4 cubes, each with a single screen, to a phone or tablet app. The app prompts you and you respond on the app, while the cubes show the visual pieces of each task: numbers, symbols, clock hands, colors, and sequences.
What the cubes are (and aren't)
- 2 to 4 cubes, each with a single screen.
- No touchscreen on the cubes, no audio, and no motion or position tracking.
- Run by the app. Communication between cubes is basic and mostly routed through that device.
- The app is the conductor and the cubes are the instruments.
The tasks
- Clock assembly and trail-making.
- Digit-symbol matching and sequence recall.
- Pattern reconstruction and selective-attention challenges.
Each task is meant to feel like a game while it quietly records the timing, accuracy, choices, hesitation, and patterns that turn play into insight.
